Plebeian Grandstand – Lowgazers

a0080049846_10

Jungbluth – Part Ache

Bandcamp | Facebook

Jungbluth is a german hardcore band with members from Alpinist, last year in November was released their first ep, a self titled tape that was pressed two times and sold out both times, a chaotic and melodic hardcore with 90s vibes is what you get from those recordings.(http://jungbluth.bandcamp.com/album/s-t-tape)

On this month  they released their first full length  “Part Ache” which contains 9 tunes with the same intensity of their first record, breakdowns, blast beats and angry shouts makes this album definitely puts the band like the best hardcore band from Germany, at least for me. New records from Throatruiner

Throatruiner is a french record label very active, a proof of that is the four records coming out in the next months of bands like Primitive Man, The Phantom Carriage, Cortez and Vuyvr… blackened music to this dehumanized society.

So, i’m gonna start with the second album of  The Phantom Carriage, ¨Falls¨ contains 8 tracks, each one shaped with their own poison of dark hardcore and black metal, nothing new nowadays but these guys takes their music to the most extreme side of their sound.

¨”Falls” brings the band’s unique approach to the next level, invoking reminiscences of various acts such as Deathspell Omega, Cave In, Comity, Deafheaven or Kickback. Songs such as “Dreamers Will Never Stop Dreaming” or “Today We Stand” reveal how much the band has improved their songwriting abilities, burying the listener under piles of epic & technical riffs, labyrinthic structures and unearthly vocals. By throwing into their chaos some more unorthodox influences they gained from their other past and actual experiences, THE PHANTOM CARRIAGE prove that they are digging deeper than your average “blackened hardcore” band. And they will take you with them.¨

Bandcamp | Download

Trying to determine why Vuyvr’s debut album “Eiskalt” is a stimulating and refreshing take on black metal is not an easy task. Hailing from Switzerland, their sound initially appears to be rather traditional, obviously influenced by a number of Norwegian and Swedish meisters of the genre. Beneath an impeccable flow and as the record will start to grow on you, you’ll notice subtle, personal touches which contribute to a large extent to the record’s peculiar charm. There’s majestic breakdowns who are wonderful but not strictly metallic (“Betrayers Of The North”), stellar dual guitars equally breathing of heavy metal and post rock (“Dead Trees Will Wander At Night”). The vocals are crisp but not exaggerated, conveying immediacy. The primitive pounding of the drums resonates the naive fury of extreme metal’s early days… Devil is in the details indeed and apparently Vuyvr have inherited the unorthodox class that characterizes their country’s metal tradition (Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Samael, Coroner…). Having excelled in the ranks of seminal underground acts such as Knut, Impure Wilhelmina, Rorcal, Elizabeth, they are not preoccupied by what the purists will think of them. They are devoted to sonic darkness and it’s all that matters. Less than a year after their initial racket, the band rushed into their practice space and recorded 9 tracks within a day that would eventually become “Eiskalt”.

With this album Cortez is again proving that you can get out of the habitual pattern of power trio (guitar, drums and voice), and still burps noise-hardcore fury and incandescent anger. The band recently reorganized itself with the arrival of Antoine Tinguely on the guitar (ex-Berserk For Tea Time), Samuel Vaney, former guitarist, is now supporting the band as composer / mixer. Recorded partly in the REC Studio of Serge Morattel in Geneva, drums, and partly in their own rehearsal space, guitars and vocals, this new album is the result of hard work, giving the band big freedom in creation and the possibility to fully assume the production process. Complete independence in learning, creating and finalizing the record. “Phoebus” reaffirms the taste of Cortez for saturation, but also explores a wide range of possibilities. Like a threatening and corrosive mist the aggressive sound still remains intense, melancholic and emotional.

Bandcamp

Fronted by Ethan McCarthy of notable grind acts Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire and Death of Self, Denver, Colorado’s PRIMITIVE MAN play some sort of blackened sludge/doom with hints of drone and d-beat in the vein of bands such as The Body, Thou or Khanate. An earth-shattering, bleak wall of crushing dissonance and pure sonic heaviness : “Scorn” is only the band’s debut full-length, but it already sounds like one of the heaviest and most brutal records you’ll hear for a while. Thirty nine minutes of pure, unrelenting destruction that will leave you bruised and bleeding.

Gaza – No Absolutes In Human Suffering

Origin:United States
Year:2012
Genre:Chaotic hardcore / Sludge
Tracks: 11
Label: Black Market Activities
This is the third full lenght by Gaza and the most anticipated album this year, even if this has been shared in tons of blogs it needs to be posted in MAH. ¨The new masterpiece, No Absolutes in Human Suffering, pulls the listener down to new depths – the sound is smothering and inescapable, every note delivered with pure conviction. Yet above all, it is entrancing and anthemic – through the brutality, glorious melodic passages shine and haunt the mind long after the album ends. Produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou (Torche, Today Is the Day), No Absolutes in Human Suffering is Gazas ultimate musical statement to date.¨ Highly recommended.

Reno – Ep

Origin: Belgium
Year: 2012
Genre: Chaotic hardcore | Mathcore
Tracks: 3
Label: Unsigned
Remember their past album called “The Year of Love”? Well, if you never heard about it, you should click here. The new recordings sound less grindcore, but they keep the same intensity on each song. I hear more sludge influences on their music, well specially in “Boat without sails on an empty sea”, love how it sounds that song. Really like this new ep, to bad it’s just six minutes of music, you know, like at the end of each song you are waiting to hear the next track.

I have no idea why I didn’t post this before since I know these guys quite a while now. This is some pretty heavy, chaotic & sometimes rock’n’rollish/punky Hardcore and sometimes I have to think of Converge or The Dillinger Escape Plan, just straighter (and pssst: definitely not a rip-off!). Anyway, the guys put all their releases, a full-length and two EPs, up for free on their website! Thanks for that! So, if you like Converge, TDEP, maybe some Doomriders and whatnot you should definitely get your “hands” on these fine records! Highly recommended!

Tharsis They comes from Detroit, MI formed by 4 guys, this is their first album and the first time i listen to this band, this came as request, thanks a ton to the band for share this. This guys manage to create interesting songs, even if the sound is nothing new nowadays, but what does the difference from the others is the different twists thrown in, reminds to bands like All Pigs Must Die, Trap Them, Converge, Botch, Coalesce. A solid album you should listen, Highly Recommended. [Band Request]

Tracks: 4

When i saw this 7″ out in Southern Lord Records i thought it was the band from UK, but when i read they were from Vancouver i search for this band and found a gem of band. Like i mentioned before this is Baptists from Vancouver, Canada. This 4 dewds are like the Cursed vol.2, they sound a bit more angry and more metallic, i don’t make the comparition to say this band rip off the sound of Cursed, i mean more like they are going to be recognized pretty soon!. However, i’m pretty psyched with this 7″ and i hope soon they release something else, i’m really looking forwad. For fans of Cursed, Converge, Torch Runner or Trap Them. Highly Recommended.

Cthulhu Youth

Origin: United Kingdom

Genre: Chaotic Hardcore|Noise|Powerviolence

Label: Holy Roar Records|Subsubtropics Records

Buy: Here & Here

Web: Blog|Facebook

Cthulhu Youth hails from London, i thought i had posted their demo but i check the past files and nothing. These guys have been doing some insteresting stuff, they aren’t stocked in a genre, you can easily hear more things in their songs, such as black metal, grindcore, powerviolence and obviously hardcore, but not that tough shit. Their demo blowed my mind in the end of the past year, a few months ago they released their first full lenght and it sounds a bit different from what the demo deserves, but still in the same sick quality. For fans of Trap Them, Dropdead, Pariso. Highly Recommended[Band Request]

It’s like the 4th time i listen the ep and i can’t get enough, if you like bands like Torch Runner, Complete Failure, Cthulhu Youth or Backstabbers Inc, you gonna love this. Highly Recommended.

That’s right, Dead Flesh Fashion has released their newest album “Thorns”, they come back with a overweight record. It’s the second time i listen the record while i try to write something and shit, i really get into it, i really like how they manage their different styles of music, such as sludge metal, hardcore and sometimes they go more math-core, but this is definitely something you have to earn for your vinyl collection. I saw this at many blogs during the past month and today i decided to download it, fuck…the first listen is like a kick in the nuts, they have people from Converge,The Hope Conspiracy and Bloodhorse, but the main fact is the music not the members, all the time they keep that metallic riffs and the d-beat going on here and there, each song sounds sick, if you have free time go to their myspace and read their about them. I just hope this band play some live shows and don’t be just a jam band. If you haven’t hear this, you should probably download it now.

My first post. What to say about this band? There’s not much. DEAD FLESH FASHION is Germany’s Hardcore/Sludge monster! They deliver a real brutal full length with “Anchors”. There already was a killer demo recorded earlier, but it’s nothing compared to this masterpiece. 11 songs of pure brutalness combined with some more quiet & atmospheric parts. You directly dive into this record with the first song and you get the impression of what’s still coming. Heavy guitars, insane bass playing and, holy shit, a distorting, unique voice. Their live shows are unbelievable. If you’re on one side into The Secret, the old heavy parts of Cult Of Luna, The Ocean and stuff like that and on the other into the grooves of Coalesce there’s no chance to not like this sweet record. The guys just finished recording their second full length called “Thorns”, so be sure to have an eye on this band. Highly recommended.
