Trap Them – Blissfucker

a0372974502_10

Bandcamp | Facebook | Prosthetic Records

Altamente recomendado.

Svffer – Lies We Live

lieswelive

Bandcamp | Facebook | Pre-Ordenar (Vendetta o Per Koro)

Recomendado.

Backstabbers Inc. – M.I.A.

a1488039378_10

Bait – Cursed Among Saints

a2696967015_10

Para fans de State of Fear, Doom o Disrupt.

Negative Standards / Whitehorse split review

Altamente recomendado.

Depravation – II: MALEDICTVM

Depravation’s first full length was released the past month by Life And Death Records, Dark Omen Records and Sälly Records, a vinyl edition limited to 500 pieces, 100 white and the rest on black. This german band has gain popularity by playing lots of shows and obviously by their music, their previous ep ” I:PRAEDICTVM” gave us an idea of what sound they were building,  hardcore with black metal played at the angriest and traditional way possible.

“II:MALEDICTVM” contains 9 new tracks written in the same line as the previous ep, but this time they got wrapped black metal and hardcore as one sound, seriously, a record you should hear. The band is offering free downloads of their new record, but remember to support independent artists by buying their merch and records.

Jungbluth – Part Ache

Bandcamp | Facebook

Jungbluth is a german hardcore band with members from Alpinist, last year in November was released their first ep, a self titled tape that was pressed two times and sold out both times, a chaotic and melodic hardcore with 90s vibes is what you get from those recordings.(http://jungbluth.bandcamp.com/album/s-t-tape)

On this month  they released their first full length  “Part Ache” which contains 9 tunes with the same intensity of their first record, breakdowns, blast beats and angry shouts makes this album definitely puts the band like the best hardcore band from Germany, at least for me. The lp can be bought in Europe via Vendetta Records, in America via Halo of Flies Records or directly from them on their European Tour:

The Disgrazia Legend – Redundance

The Disgrazia Legend resides in Milano, Italy, they were formed around 1997 as Onetruth, later in 2003 is when they change their name and to date they still do things under the diy ethics.

Last year they released an 11 track album, which was released on cd by their own label. ¨Redundance¨ its an experimental project with sounds  mixture like hardcore, post-hardcore, noise and punk. An album full of noise and melodic tunes driven by energetic drum beats, also you´ll find two interludes on this album. ¨Redundance¨ its the last full length released… on cd, upcoming records will be available on Vinyl and digital. After ten 10 years of existence the band continues playing solid and noisy tunes with influences from bands like Hot Snakes, Young Widows, Breach, Neurosis, Kiss It Goodbye, just to name a few and give you an idea of their not limited taste, they create music without tags or classifying what they do, they just simple do it. So if you´re looking for some post-whatever-noise, go to their bandcamp page, listen and then make them an offer or buy the cd for only €7. Recommended.

HANDLINGNOISE – S/T

HANDLINGNOISE was founded in Helsinki, Finland as an ambient/noise –project in 2007. It was started for a one-off performance at a club for experimental music. Shortly after the concert we were joined by a drummer, which opened up a load of new possibilities. Due to our different musical backgrounds and influences that range from minimal electronic music to metal our own style became very multifaceted.

We wanted to develop a distinctive sound also from the production point of view, so we started recording material on our own in 2008. In the beginning we did this at training spaces and summer cottages using our own and some borrowed equipment. As the project evolved and we realized that these recordings were growing into an album, we also went to record in a studio. We finished work on our debut album in the spring of 2012 and it was mastered by Harris Newman at Greymarket Mastering, Montreal, Canada.

Black Mass – Of First and Last Things

Black Mass is a four piece band from Leeds, UK, their music flows into the most evil death-metal/grindcore rolled into hardcore/ crust mix, seriously one of the most heaviest and obscure band  you are able to find nowadays. This record contains re-recordings of their complete discography. Shows and new tunes will come pretty soon, keep an eye with this band and if you have the chance to see them live, don’t miss them. Recommended.

Stellar Young-Everything At Once

People are going to download your music one way or another, so why not give them the highest quality download with the option to pay?” says Erik Flora (guitar/vocals). Erik goes on to explain that free downloads with the option to pay is the direction the music industry has headed. Bands such as Radiohead and Wilco have paved the road for this movement. “Since the digital release is basically free we wanted to add some value to the physical release” explains John Glenn. The physical release of Everything at Once contains musical interludes as well as a booklet with illustrations by Amanda Marie Eilis King (of AMEK Studios). “This album is more of a cohesive thought than what we’ve done in the past” says Dave Parker. “By using a centralized theme, we aimed to create an experience when you listen to the whole album front to back which has also been the movement in our live show.” The physical album will be released in early January, 2013.

Everything at Once was mostly tracked in the band’s apartment and produced by Dave Parker just like their last release Madison. However, this time the drums were recorded at Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY and all of the tracks were mixed by Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner. Michael and Chris are known for producing bands like Straylight Run, Coheed and Cambria, The Sleeping, and many more. Stellar Young is a prime example of the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) band. Between independently releasing Everything at Once, successfully raising funds on Kickstarter for a mini shuttle bus, releasing/recording their sophomore album Madison, hard work and dedication would be the best way to describe their music.

Early Mammal – Demon or Saint?

Early Mammal started on February 1st 2012 in an old butter factory in Camberwell, South London, called Dropout (London’s true home of sludge and noise). Formed by Rob Herian (ex-Elks http://www.heavyplanet.net/2011/10/new-band-to-burn-one-to-elks.html) on guitar and vocals, Ben Davies (ex-85 Bears) on drums, and with the prog-stylings of Turkish born Deniz Belendir on organ and synths, the band spent hours jamming heavy blues, space-rock and psyche with the likes of Captain Beefheart, High Rise, White Hills and Hawkwind on the brain, and in September 2012 finally finished recording their first album, Horror at Pleasure, which is looking for a 2013 release.
It’s head-down-rock; it’s fuzzed-out and heavy. But there’s also something wrong in the story. That’s what the last few months have created in Early Mammal and that’s what you get. That’s what we all get because there’s something not right about any of us, anywhere. All our stories are fucked. Early Mammal is coming from somewhere else. It’s expected and it’s telling you something.

QDRPD – Quadrupéde

QDRPD is a duo from Le Mans, West-side of France, they play ¨Intrumental rock¨ with electronic elements thrown in the mix. When i read about the electronic elements i thought it was going to be something way different, like some ambient/drone project but this has nothing to do with that, their music also incorporates math-rock, noise and indie elements. If you have been looking for something atypical that no one knows about, you should start listening this two piece band. Highly recommended.

HOLY fuck, these italians are back with a new lp released through the german label Adagio 830. Revengeance – Complacent  Complacency

Revengeance is a five piece power-violence locomotive. Taking it’s first steps in 2011, and already with three releases under their belts, Revengeance took the punk scene by storm with its unique blend of 80´s hardcore, proto-grindcore and all the cult 90´s power-violence bands, and adding a sprinkle of “fuck off” attitude. In just one year they managed to play all the key Portuguese festivals and support slots for some overseas acts. Expect angry female/male vocals, fast drumming and loud guitars. The band is in its essence a tribute to power-violence. Give it a try or fuck off.

Romero – Take The Potion

Romero’s first full length has been released on January, thanks to a kickstar campaign the album will be released as vinyl. The cd version can be ordered from their bigcartel page as well as other merch. These folks keep  playing stoner metal full of fuzzy riffages and psychedelics passages, it’s not a total stoner metal record cause  they bring the darkness and heaviness of doom metal which gives to their sound another direction. If you roll into stoner metal or doom metal, Take The Potion is what you need nowadays, highly recommended.

3. In The Circle of Lies
4. In Urine

Painted Wolves released Unholy last year and thanks to a band request i found their music, the band features members from Death Is Not Glamorous, Anchor, Dead Vows, The Smackdown, 8 Days pf Nothing… you probably know about their side projects, the fact is that Painted Wolves is still unknown and obviously this need to be heard by more people. ¨Two words, four punks and too many amps to handle. Göteborg, jeansvests, powerstances and headbangs.Loud drums, distorted guitar, gnarly screams and a wall of bassguitar.  Why make things complicated, right?. It’s not an unfmailiar formula, but does every band have the genuinity?. Are we pretentious assholes? Possibly!¨ that short bio introduce me to this band and fuck it, it’s all you need to read about these guys. I’ll describe this as the child of Failures and Brainworms, highly recommended.

By the way, keep your eyes peeled cause they will be touring europe this summer with Comadre and Dangers. Get their music for free through bandcamp.

1. Bittervatten
2. Worms Of The Earth
3. Strings Of Red
4. The Shrine

6. Seven Blessings
7. Licking The Hand That Bleeds

Blessings is a swedish power trio based in Gothenburg, formed in 2011 and featuring members of Anchor, Painted Wolves, Scraps Of Tape, Tsukimono and Fä among others. This is their first ep recorded and sounds insane, the tag hardcore/punk for this band  gives the idea of a music pattern, something you clearly note they don’t have. so lets say they play some kind of hardcore influenced by crust/doom/drone/shoegaze, the recordings are full of noise and feedbacks giving a darker sound.

Bittervaten was released on tape through their own label Dålig Stämning and Serene records, such tape is sold out but you can get this for the price you want on their bandcamp. A new 7″ of shorter material is in the works, as well as a longer 30+ min track which will be a separate release sometime in the fall of 2013

Have been listening to this record a few times today and i totally get into this band, haven’t heard before them and the more i know about the band i ask myself why i never give them a listen… better late than ever. So, as some of you know they recently did a split with Republic of Dreams and they have been releasing records since 2010, to date some says this are their best recordings so far, i’m still curious to listen their past recordings, anyway, have been listening this record for almost four times.

The side A starts with a sampler and then a metal riff that turns into an insane grindcore slot intoxicated of d-beat and metal, least but not least are the vocals, she doesn’t follow any path, her vocals are clean sometimes, most time transmitting her angry feelings. That’s not all about this record, on side B they also throw to the mix some sludgy down-tempo riffages , along other sounds like hardcore or screamo; it’s interesting how each song has their own touch and makes this album different from others. ¨We aren’t afraid to experiment with new sounds and ideas, but not so much that we lose sight of what we are predominantly: punks playing really fast.”.

Cloud Rat is not the only three piece band, but these guys make a complete sound with one guitar, without bass, only drums played really heavy. The lp is already out and you can order your copy in America here: http://www.halooffliesrecords.com/  Europe:http://reactwithprotest.org/

Okkultokrati – Snakereigns

Origin: Norway

Genre:  Hardcore / Punk rock

Label: Fysisk Format

Have seen this record around many blogs that i decided to give a try, never heard of them before until now. If you are new to this band you should know they are Norwegians and black metal its not their thing even if you can find some elements on their music. It’s hard trying to describe such catchy and ugly sound… imagine if punk rock had a blackened version, with elements of  hardcore-doom and rock n’roll with catchy beats and gnarled vocals,  definitely an original sound that has to be heard by more people.  This is their second full length and its able on cd/vinyl by Fysisk Format, don’t think it twice to get this masterpiece, highly recommended.

¨Nine tracks of ugly rock ‘n’ roll played on heavy metal equipment and with a punk attitude. Simple and profound.¨Fysisk Format.

Ritual Mess – 7¨

Origin: United States
Genre: Hardcore / Screamo
Label: Clean Plate Records
“Three songs are finally unveiled from this project that until now had been shrouded in years of secrecy. Jayson Green, Will Killingsworth, Andy Skelly and James Clarke bring you a sound that harkens back to the foundation of Gravity records with nods to such bands as Antioch Arrow, and Swing Kids, but all the while retaining a sound that is completely their own, and brewing over with ferocity.” – Clean Plate Records.
Reading who are the band members you don´t need any other kind of info, you only need to know this is another addictive record that you have to eight times in a row, 6 minutes are not enough. Highly recommended.

¨Sedentary¨ the third album from American Heritage is going to be released now in Europe by Solar Flare Records and Prototype Records.

Highly recommended.

Daighila – Transitions

Label: Cactus Records | Revulsion Records

Daighila formed out in the early 2000 with tons of solid releases. A successful effort of creating their own signature of sound, combining emo violence, powerhouse and hardcore punk tunes can be heard from one releases to another releases. Having a brilliant recording material and a good live set, making them one of the essential Malaysian punk band recently. This CD contains 14 songs in 40 minutes taken from their selected releases from Henceforth EP cassette (2009), split 7″ with Fanzui Xiangfa (2010), split cassette with Circuits (2011), split 7″ with This Is Atlantis (2012), split cassette with Pazahora (2012) and their recent 7″ split release with Grinding Halt. All songs had been re-mastered by Brad Broadright of Audiosiege Sonic Engineering (also doing mastering for High On Fire, Sleep, OFF!, etc) and this CD comes in brilliant gatefold packaging with artwork from Anna Vo (vocalist of now defunct Crux and now becoming a folk singer).

Closure / Moloch split

Origin:United Kingdom
Year:2012
Genre:Doom / Hardcore / Powerviolence / Sludge
Tracks: 5
Label: Feast of Tentacles | KOTM Records
A split i was waiting for, both bands sound is brutal and violent… the split starts with Closure, four tracks of ultra heavy hardcore/powerviolence. In the other side is Moloch just with one track of six minutes with the same dose of mean doom/sludge with angry shouts… both bands are already known by most of you. Highly recommended.

Converge / Napalm Death split

Origin: United States | England
Year:2012
Genre: Death metal / Grindcore / Hardcore
Tracks: 4
Label: Deathwish Inc.
Legendary bands Converge and Napalm Death have come together for a split release, bridging the worlds of personal and politically driven extreme music.

Recorded as part of their new album sessions, Converge offer up the blazing new song “No Light Escapes”. Already a staple of their live set, this whirlwind of an emotional charged song is a soon to be a discordant hardcore/metal anthem for the band. Also on the release, Converge offer a “We Are The World” styled rendition of the influential Entombed classic “Wolverine Blues”. Joining them in tribute is a number of friends including Tomas Lindberg (Disfear, At The Gates, Lock Up), Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom, Split Cranium), Kevin Baker (APMD, The Hope Conspiracy), Brian Izzi (Trap Them), and more. A new Converge album will surface later in 2012 on Epitaph/Deathwish.

On the flip side, metal pioneers Napalm Death offer up two new aural monsters. First, “Will By Mouth” erupts in classic grind fashion. A buzz of brutal guitars and a crushing blast beat lay a foundation for Barney Greenway’s vicious vocal attack. All of it uniquely bleeding together to paint a vivid picture of social unrest. Also on the release, Napalm Death offer the slower and textural new song “No Impediment To Triumph (Bhopal)”. A deeply resonant number that lyrically sheds light on the horrific Bhopal Gas Tragedy of 1984. Without question, “No Impediment…” is truly a powerful and poignant moment for this legendary band.

Have been waiting for this a couple of months, can only say this album its a fucking beast. 12 new songs in about 23 minutes, chaotic/filthy music you can’t miss. It’s a short introduction but you don’t need more than just start listening. Highly recommended.

Colombian Necktie/Seizures Split

Facebook [CN][S]
Origin:United States
Year:2012
Genre: Hardcore
Tracks: 5
Label:Sun Terrace Records
Colombian Necktie comes from Los Angeles and Seizures from Dana Point, California. Colombian Necktie does something more grindy hardcore and at parts they go more sludge, experimenting with various genres, haven’t heard them before but they give me a great impression. In the other side is Seizures, a chaotic/dark hardcore that sounds violent as fuck,  saw them like two months ago and i totally get into this band. “15 minutes and 13 seconds of aggressive ‘Negative Metal’ and ‘Blackened Hardcore’ on one record.” a better description from Sun Terrace Records. Highly recommended.

Disquieted By – Lords of Tagada

Origin: Italy
Year: 2012
Genre: Hardcore / Punk / Rock
Tracks: 12
Label: To Loose La Track | Sons of Vesta

A tagadà is an amusement ride pretty common to find in fairs. riders sit in a round bowl with no seatbelts or restraints. there are bars behind the riders which they hold onto. The ride starts to spin, the music starts playing and hydraulic arms bounce the riders up and down.

and, just like a tagadà, disquieted by spin, spin and spin, fueled by catchy rock & roll tunes built upon solid punkrock foundations. comparisons with the bronx, the hives or drive like jehu can be easily made, but only after being involved in one of their frenetic, hectic live shows one can be really aware of the true power of this band. disquieted by, from firenze, are the true lords of tagadà, as they keep on spinning but never fall down.[Band request]

Ghostlimb – Confluence

Origin: United States
Year: 2012
Genre: Hardcore
Tracks: 12
Label: Melotov Records | Vitriol Records
“This record is the second in a trilogy from Ghostlimb, starting with last year’s “Infrastructure” LP. As a whole, this is the 5th ghostlimb release to date. Confluence takes up where this leaves off and moves the discourse about varying scrutinized topics along with bravado and jerkiness. This Lp has 11 new songs, ranging from regional politics, those piece of shit kids you grew up with, political theory, and ecology. Also featured is a cover of Hot Water Music’s “Southeast First”. In a never ending effort to die from stress related mortality issues, this record comes out a few months shy of a year after Infrastructure, with a pretty awesome Euro tour between.”Vitriol Records.

Seven Sisters of Sleep – Self Titled EP

Origin: United States
Year: 2012
Genre: Doom / Hardcore / Metal
Tracks: 6
Label: A389 Records
Probably you don’t care for this kind of info, but for those who have send a message or published a comment in the requests section, all the band requests will be up from friday to sunday, sorry if you did your request weeks ago and it haven’t been posted, time goes and days are shorter.
This is the new ep by Seven Sisters of Sleep, for those who are unfamiliar with the band, they come from Southern California and they’re signed with A389, their fist material was released back in 2010, it was also a self titled Lp, after that a split with Children of God was released, they don’t play in a specific order, you can’t make an exact tag to this band, if you like metallic dark hardcore influenced grindcore/doom/sludge/hate you must listen. Highly recommended.

Burning Love – Rotten Thing To Say

Origin: Canada
Year: 2012
Genre: Hardcore
Tracks: 12
Label: Southern Lord
BURNING LOVE is a group from Toronto with a chip on their shoulder and electric blood in their veins; their output a desperate, venomous and informed rock n’ roll fury that sways and swaggers somewhere between hardcore punk and the darker side of blues gone wrong. After the sudden demise of the now legendary Cursed, enigmatic frontman Chris Colohan picked right back up where he the band last left us, but this time collaborating with the members of Our Father, comes back to the table with a band that had a decidedly different musical approach and direction. Rotten Thing To Say was recorded by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at his infamous Salem, Massachusetts-based Godcity Studio. The album was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side. The recording and the production of “Rotten…” shows a extreme improvement from the bands past recordings. Vocals are clearer which amplifies their vicious and venomous delivery. Guitars are as raw as ever and blatantly cranked to rip off your face. The songwriting reveals a band at their peak with riffs and melodies as infectious as tuberculosis.[Southern Lord]

Depravation – I:Praedictvm

Origin: Germany
Year: 2012
Genre: Black metal / Hardcore / Metal
Tracks: 3
Label: Dark Omen Records
More music from germany, not the type of hardcore you imagine, this bands sounds more darker and more into black metal. Depravation comes from Gießen and this is the recordings, released as tape by Dark Omen Records. Three songs are dropped, the first one sounds great, blackened hardcore  with a perfect double bass, the second one contains 2 mints of spoken words, it turns scary if you’re high, but it sounds great. This is just their demo, so lets put attention to this band. Highly recommended.

Cowards – Shooting Blanks and Pills

Origin: France
Year: 2012
Genre: Black metal / Hardcore / Sludge metal
Tracks: 6
Label: Throatruiner Records | Hellbound Records
This is not the american hardcore/sludge band, it’s about the french band, they’re releasing their debut release through Throatruiner and Hellbound Records. Their music sounds black metal influenced at parts, but they keep playing something between Hardcore/Sludge metal. Listen carefully the album and spread the hate, highly recommended.
