Plebeian Grandstand – Lowgazers

a0080049846_10

Northless – World Keeps Sinking

Regarde Les Hommes Tomber- S/T

France | 2013 | Les Acteurs De L’ombre

Regarde Les Hommes Tomber comes from Nantes, France, their first lp will be released around march, meanwhile two songs are up on bandcamp and you can pre-order the record from LADLO. Searching for more information about these guys, found their name comes from a french film of 1994 ¨Regarde Les Hommes Tomber¨ (See How They Fall), anyway, don’t find information  about their previous/side projects, that its not of much importance and i know, just wondering who they are cause their skills to write music sounds like they have played for years on this project. Listening this two tracks makes me anxious to listen the complete album, this project creates music influenced by black metal, sludge metal and post-hardcore, played to the most dark and loud way possible. Keep an eye with this band, highly recommended.

Your Highness – Blue Devils

https://i0.wp.com/f0.bcbits.com/z/10/43/104333860-1.jpg

Origin: Belgium

Tracks: 3

Label: Highness Records

¨Your Highness hails from the ports of Antwerp. These regal Belgians emerged from a punk-hc scene with a huge DIY-spirit, which shaped the band’s character to what it is today. In 2009, they recorded a 3-song demo at Studio 195. One year later, they dropped a hammer called “Cults ‘n’ Cunts”, a full cd/lp recorded and mixed by Epic productions and mastered at New Alliance East. These royal tunes got released with the help of Hammerheart records and received great reviews all over the world. Testimony to this statement was the willingness of both Doomstar bookings and Ruffstuff bookings to work with the band. Your Highness played tons of shows in Belgium, UK, Netherlands, France and Spain with the likes of Acid King, Saviours, Fucked Up, Today is the day, Weedeater, Diablo Blvd, Drums are for Parades and many more … Just recently, Antwerps finest stonerband unleashed “Blue Devils”, their new EP, recorded once again with Epic productions and mastered at New Alliance East. Released as a free Digital Ep and 10″ LP.Your Highness is a five-piece stoner/sludge metal band from Antwerpen, Belgium¨ Copy-paste from their website, i’m in hurry, gotta go work but this three-track ep is definitely worth to listen, recommended.

Hush – Untitled I

Origin: United States

Genre: Ambient / Doom / Noise / Sludge metal

Label: Unsigned

Hush comes from Albany, New York and this is their first album recorded. It’s not easy describe music that haves a variety of genres getting mixed, but their main idea focuses on sludge metal with doom metal, its metallic but not technical like Admiral Angry or Black Sheep of Wall, at times it sounds similar to that kind of bands but these guys offers something like Thou, not with the highly post-rock influences, but you clearly hear some ambient/drone passages that turns atmospheric.

If you like the bands mentioned above, you should check out this guys, its worth the listen.

Leechfeast – Hideous Illusions

Origin:Slovenia
Year:2012
Genre: Doom metal / Sludge metal
Tracks: 4
Label: Self-released | Shitpiece Records | Ulterior Tapes
Leechfeast comes from Slovenia featuring members of Paperplanecrash, ex-Melete and Acrid Sunday. Their sound is down-tuned, noisy and heavy as fuck, the album starts with a sampler of an exorcism (?)  and then smartly the song starts with a heavy down-tuned riffage with an aggressive vocal, their music reminds me to bands like Grief, Moloch or Thou, definitely the bands will catch your attention, highly recommended.[Band request]

Eagle Twin – The Feather Tripped the Serpent Scale

The Body – Self-titled

Origin:United States
Year:2012 (re-released)
Genre: Doom metal / Sludge metal
Tracks: 7
Label:At A Loss Recordings
This album was first released around 2004, it was out of print for a lot of time, in the beginning of 2012 it was re-released by At A Loss Recordings. ¨Nine minutes of crashing cymbals/percussion built upon by slowed samples all over one constant riff accented by distortion. Repetitive grooves with shrieked vocals lead to interludes of piano and upright bass bowing takes the listener to tracks of the sludged-out and the chaotic, instrumental breaks ending with a behemoth 14 minute closer!. If someone is missing this album, get it now, highly recommended.

Church of Wolves – Kentucky Fried Jesus

Origin:United States
Year:2012
Genre: Doom | Psychedelic | Sludge metal
Tracks: 3
Label:Unsigned
This is the first Ep by Church of Wolves, “Kentucky Fried Jesus” has only three songs, playing crushing doom/sludge metal, it sounds really dark all the negative riffs played, they also lands into atmospheric sounds, throwing psychedelia in the minimalist sound,  a record you shouldn’t let go if you are fan of the genre. I would like to see this on vinyl or cd, it deserves a physical release, until that happens, the band has upload the complete ep and can be downloaded as pay what you want. Highly recommended

Cowards – Shooting Blanks and Pills

This is not the american hardcore/sludge band, it’s about the french band, they’re releasing their debut release through Throatruiner and Hellbound Records. Their music sounds black metal influenced at parts, but they keep playing something between Hardcore/Sludge metal. Listen carefully the album and spread the hate, highly recommended.

Most of the people who listen BSW know/talk about this record. I don’t know why it took me a lot to post this album, but better late than never, ha!.  For those who haven’t heard this band, i’m going to make it more clear and easy for you… they don’t need upside down crosses in the cover art (or in their name)  to let people know they play heavy, no trends, just fucking heavy music, give them a listen and if you can, go and see them live. Highly recommended.

Crown – The One

Origin: France
Year: 2012
Genre: Doom metal | Sludge metal
Tracks: 5
Label: Unsigned
Get a copy here.
Crown is a two piece band, just two guitars and a machine, they started in summer of 2011, this is their debut ep and you should give this a listen. Prepare your ears for slow tempos, dark atmospheres and heavyweights riffs, also at times it sounds more like post-metal and the samplers fits perfect, for real this can be the most interesting thing of the genre this year, well, some of the most, because other things will come and more things have been released. However, sometimes words are useless, so go to their bandcamp and take a listen, also you can grab a limited copy (300 only) of this ep. Highly recommended.

Genre: Sludge Metal | Stoner
Tracks: 12
Label: Slow Burn Records
Buy: Here
“The first full-lengh from the French band Drawers called “All is One”. Concept album about a sailor crossing the ocean to find its nemesis, 12 titles with the accents to Heavy Sludge and Stoner in the line of Mastodon, Crowbar or Baroness.” Wanted to post this days ago, but i’ve been robotized and can’t do other thing than work, fucking shittty days. Highly Recommended.

The Osedax – Delayed Response

Origin: United States
Year: 2010
Genre: Doom Metal | Sludge Metal
Tracks: 8
Label: Dullest Records
Buy: Here
The Osedax came together in 2008, and they released their debut album “Delayed Response” in 2010, later this year it was released on 2xLP. Their sound has been around years but this guys execute so well the genre that you get into them pretty fast, “These guys are making a name on their local metal scene in the US. And its not hard to see why. Parts Stoner,  Doom, Sludge, Post-Metal and element of Black Metal. What the best up and coming sludge bands should have.” that words comes from the mouth of The Sludgelord. Great debut album, highly recommended.

Dead Existence – Born Into The Planet’s Scars

Origin: United Kingdom
Year: 2011
Genre: Doom Metal|Hardcore|Sludge Metal
Tracks: 2
Label: Withered Hand Records
Buy: Here
Web: Website
Dead Existence are formed by 5 stoners coming from London, since 2004 they have been playing but i knew them by their split with Dopefight, so i don’t know  how sounds their past stuff, gonna check that because i’ve read good things about their debut album, anyway, talking about this new album, it contains 2 longs tracks in almost 27 minutes. I like how this band combines doom metal and sludge with hardcore, always creating brutal/crushing tunes. For fans of Black Sheep Wall, Crowbar, Haarp, Salome. Highly Recommended.[Band Request]

Omean – Sea God

Origin: USA
Year: 2010
Genre: Doom Metal|Psychedelic|Sludge Metal
Tracks: 4
Label: Unsigned
Buy: Here
Doom time!, Omean are formed by 5 metal heads and they hail from NOLA scene, this is their first ep. It’s like the six time i listen the ep and i can’t write something worth it for the band, but fuck it, i don’t make reviews, just recommendations, from the beginning to the end they keep the same atmosphere, sometimes turns more into a psychedelic doom but definitely sounds sick. If you are looking for some crushing/heavy doom you have to give this a listen. It’s a shame not many people knows about this band. For fans of Salome, Haarp. Black Sheep Wall, Northless or even Neurosis, just to name a few. Highly Recommended [more enjoyable with a swisher]

Iron Witch-Single Malt

Origin: Liverpool, England
Year: 2011
Genre: Sludge Metal
Tracks: 5
Label: Witch Hunter Records
Buy: Here

Iron Witch was formed in 2010 they drop our a demo the past year and know, they have this new record called “Single Malt” released by Witch Hunter Records. They say they are playing the “NOLA style”  and it’s true, they remind a lot to Eyehategod, the vocalist does the same throat scorched vocals. Man, seriously if you are into all those NOLA bands, Sleep, Iron Monkey, you should give a listen to this great ep. Highly Recommended.

Dead Flesh Fashion – Thorns

Origin: Germany
Year: 2011
Genre: Chaotic Hardcore|Sludge Metal
Tracks: 9
Label: Midsummer Records|Shark Men Records
Buy: Here
Web: Myspace
That’s right, Dead Flesh Fashion has released their newest album “Thorns”, they come back with a overweight record. It’s the second time i listen the record while i try to write something and shit, i really get into it, i really like how they manage their different styles of music, such as sludge metal, hardcore and sometimes they go more math-core, but this is definitely something you have to earn for your vinyl collection. Highly Recommended.

Planks – Solicit To Fall

Origin: Germany
Year: 2011
Genre: Black Metal|Hardcore|Sludge Metal
Tracks: 4
Label: ?
Buy: Here
New ep by Planks from germany, these guys have been doing great things, months ago they put out an album called “The Darkest Of Grays” and it was for free download, now they come with an ep called “Solicit To Fall” and it was recorded in the same session as “The Darkest Of Grays” it sounds similar to their last release, they keep that heavy atmosphere where sludge metal and hardcore meets black metal, no doubt Planks is one of the best punk band out there in germany, from my point of view. You can buy this directly from their bandcamp, send them a message if you want a record, it comes as one side LP. For fans of Black Freighter, Northless, His Hero Is Gone or Tombs. Highly Recommended.

Northless – Clandestine Abuse

Origin: United States
Year: 2011
Genre: Doom|Sludge Metal
Tracks: 8
Label: Gilead Media|Halo of Flies Records
Buy: Here
Web: Website
Northless is a band from Winconsin, they used to be a two piece band, now they are four and they are ready to take off your head. I like their older stuff like the split with protestant, “No quarter for the damaged” and “Leaving the wolves” are their previously releases for “Clandestine Abuse” and you clearly listen the progress of the band, no doubt. I highly recommend you this record if you want to listen something heavier and fresh, i hope Northless keep up the great work. And if you like it, support the labels involved and buy this gem of album, it has been released as 2xLP…sick, right?. Highly Recommended.
