Altamente recomendado.
Released by MusicFearSatan on March 22, it comes in clear purple with red and blue streaks with an amazing cover art done by Benjamin Moreau (HUATA).
The split starts with the side of Huata, a french band that have a few years in the doom scene but lately has been more known thanks to their first full length ¨Atavist of Mann¨ released over a year ago. They contribute two new songs in the same line of occult stoner / doom metal with higher doses of psychedelics, the band has gain skills to write more creative songs thanks to their live rituals. I´m thinking this is the best exposure of the band so far, if you believe Atavist of Mann was all they can give, that was only the beginning.
In the other side is Bitchot from the southern lowlands, a six-piece band that released their debut album ¨Toybox¨ 4 years ago and since then Bitcho haven´t do any new recordings. If you are new to this band, i´m pretty sure you’ll become a fan of them easily, Drone/Doom Metal very repetitive and loud with psychedelic sounds, voice effects included, all together sounds superb and they can be compared with bands like Cough or Windhand.
Props to the label for put this two bands in the same record and congrats to the bands.
2. Worms Of The Earth
3. Strings Of Red
4. The Shrine
5. Wormwood Litany
6. Seven Blessings
7. Licking The Hand That Bleeds
Blessings is a swedish power trio based in Gothenburg, formed in 2011 and featuring members of Anchor, Painted Wolves, Scraps Of Tape, Tsukimono and Fä among others. This is their first ep recorded and sounds insane, the tag hardcore/punk for this band gives the idea of a music pattern, something you clearly note they don’t have. so lets say they play some kind of hardcore influenced by crust/doom/drone/shoegaze, the recordings are full of noise and feedbacks giving a darker sound.
Bittervaten was released on tape through their own label Dålig Stämning and Serene records, such tape is sold out but you can get this for the price you want on their bandcamp. A new 7″ of shorter material is in the works, as well as a longer 30+ min track which will be a separate release sometime in the fall of 2013
Italy | 2013 | Tannen Records/Escape from Today/Blinde Proteus/Sangue Dischi
7. L’ora del corpo spaccato
Pneumologic is the first album done by Ornaments, official released on February 5 Cd/Vinyl, meanwhile you can listen the whole thing at bandcamp. The new album contains 7 songs, to date i think this are their best recordings, i know each record used to sound different and with a variant of genres thrown in the mix, on this record they use the same skills to create ¨doomed post-rock¨… doesn’t exist such genre but so far is the best way to describe their sound. Highly recommended.
Second ep by the German band Aleph Null, if you haven´t check this band yet, is time to get into their music. These guys play something between doom and sludge filled with psychedelic riffs, if you are looking for something fresh in the doom/sludge community you should give a proper listen to this record. Contains four new tracks and you can get it for free through their bandcamp, don’t know if its going to be released physical, that would be great but they still unsigned, so if you run a label you should sign this band, once you hear this you’ll understand why i’m saying this.Highly recommended.
Ortega is a four-piece sludge/doom collective from The North of The Netherlands, the band has been around since 2008 and ¨A Flame Never Rises On Its Own¨is their latest release, a three-track ep recently released on vinyl by Badger Records. Haven’t listen their old recordings yet, so i can’t say this are the best recordings from the band, but after hearing this ep 4 times i believe they can reach more audience with their music. Each track is a different movement that keeps you between doom and sludge, heavy riffages that turns atmospheric proper of post-metal or post-rock, but not showed in phases, all the sounds being just one, its amazing how they keep the listener in the same atmosphere from the beginning to the end. For fans of Neurosis, Koloss or Huldra, recommended.
Found this dutch band today, they come from the southern lowlands and here its their debut album released three years ago and re-released on this year. Nothing new to discover, it´s the same drone sound heavy influenced by doom/psychedelic, creating an atmosphere of torture with this obscure sound. The record is very complete and well executed, it has voice effect, three bass guitars, yes three fucking bass guitars with tons of effects, its hypnotic, monotonous and full of feedback’s. The album is up on bandcamp to stream or buy. For fans of Ufommamut, Conan, Cough or even Om, a must have for those who are seeking for high quality music. Highly recommended.
First post of DoG on the blog, to date i think is their best recorded stuff. Found the album posted in many blogs so i though it would be nice to introduce you to this record.
The band has been active since 2008, over the years their sound has change, in the past they were more crust influenced, after a few member changes the band took other direction, nowadays their sound is a mix of genres like black metal, doom, post-metal and even hardcore, the result is darker, heavier and atmospheric… is not a surprise listen this kind of mix, but just a few can create creative songs. A must have, highly recommended.
A split i was waiting for, both bands sound is brutal and violent… the split starts with Closure, four tracks of ultra heavy hardcore/powerviolence. In the other side is Moloch just with one track of six minutes with the same dose of mean doom/sludge with angry shouts… both bands are already known by most of you. Highly recommended.
I was waiting for this since the band posted a sampler of their upcoming album. If you disliked this band cause they used the name of some of the greatest songs of doom, ¨III¨ throws buzzy/filthy riffs that will change your perception of this band, a master piece to get high and to remember why this band is called Dopethrone. Great samplers, excelent music, get on this now… highly recommended.
This is the first Ep by Church of Wolves, “Kentucky Fried Jesus” has only three songs, playing crushing doom/sludge metal, it sounds really dark all the negative riffs played, they also lands into atmospheric sounds, throwing psychedelia in the minimalist sound, a record you shouldn’t let go if you are fan of the genre. I would like to see this on vinyl or cd, it deserves a physical release, until that happens, the band has upload the complete ep and can be downloaded as pay what you want. Highly recommended
“After the release of Ausserwelt, awesome record and critically acclaimed second album by YEAR OF NO LIGHT, we started talking last year with our old friends from Bordeaux about releasing something new from them. We talked about several projects of split and collaborations and eventually all agreed on the idea of sharing a new record with THISQUIETARMY from Montreal, Canada. This record pushes the idea of sharing a record to the extreme. Both sides start with a new song from each band, long songs (approx 12 min) which let both bands enough time to develop their own ambience full of intensity and melodic loops. These new songs are followed by collaboratives drones which prove that these two bands were made to work together and share a record” Destructure.
Probably you don’t care for this kind of info, but for those who have send a message or published a comment in the requests section, all the band requests will be up from friday to sunday, sorry if you did your request weeks ago and it haven’t been posted, time goes and days are shorter.
This is the new ep by Seven Sisters of Sleep, for those who are unfamiliar with the band, they come from Southern California and they’re signed with A389, their fist material was released back in 2010, it was also a self titled Lp, after that a split with Children of God was released, they don’t play in a specific order, you can’t make an exact tag to this band, if you like metallic dark hardcore influenced grindcore/doom/sludge/hate you must listen. Highly recommended.
Great band from Lublin, Poland, their music is mainly influenced by old movies, 70’s music & magical herbs. If you like Electric Wizard, Belzebong or Acid King, you should give a listen to Dopelord. Listen to “Ghost Cargo From The Bong”, smoke a bowl and just listen the complete album, highly recommended.
“Half Blood is an album that gets more rewarding with every listen. Miller has hidden plenty of noises and outher aural gems for listeners to discover upon repeat listens, and this is a record that you will want to come back to time and time again. It’s a milestone for Jenks Miller, after all his experimenting and collaborating he has come back with a full length that is a genuine adventure, and a record that tells a story from start to finish. I always look forward to new Horseback material, and after hearing Half Blood I know the music will only continue to grow and change, and that experimentation is met with reward.” Cvlt Nation. Recommended.

Kadavar is a three piece band from Berlin, Germany, the vintage look and the cover artwork seems interesting, you know is not going to be something new and probably you think is another copy of Black Sabbath… but like their record label says (“You can’t reinvent the wheel, but you can roll it”) . So, if you are into Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Hawking, give them a listen. Recommended. Buy | Dwnld
Romero comes from Wisconsin, they released their debut 7″ in sept/10’… a lot of time has passed, now they present 2 new songs released as tape by the band and digitally by “Grindcore Karaoke”. their music is on the same direction as their debut, a bit less stoner rock influenced and more into the heavy and metallic riffages, have been enjoying both tracks but i think it’s time for see a full length. Extra info you should know, the tape comes with 3D artwork/poster and 3D glasses, but it’s limited so hurry up. Highly recommended.
The band was formed in 2010 and immediately became one of the coolest (of the most interesting) black metal projects in Poland.Thaw belongs to the group of artists, who celebrate the creation in some way.In their fascination with cacophony, noise and nihilism, they throw accepted aesthetic norms off,get a listener to experience every sound. In spite of a bit more approachable sound the newest material /Advance 2012/ terrifies at the same degree as the earlier one.The band, not turning away from a steamy, dense and full of anxiety atmosphere, can link previous patents on creating black magma of dirty sounds with recent trends of extreme, dark ,black metal stylistic.

Days ago found this album, today after coming from work this is what receive me, after a long stressed day. Royal Talons is like the hashish of stoner metal, all the thc is concentrated here… they are a three piece band from Denver, Co. and these guys know how to do down-tuned and drepesing tunes with a psychedelic touch, skip this wannabe review and start listen this, highly recommended.
This came as request and it’s going to be available until March 1st, meanwhile you can get this for free at bandcamp. These guys are from Fresno, CA and this is their new ep, you should really give a listen to them, for fans of Seven Sisters of Sleep, Admiral Angry, Black Sheep Wall. Highly recommended.
This is some of the most anticipated albums i was waiting for this year, the wait has been worth. Rituals as you may know is formed by members of Hellas Mounds and former members of Abysmal, they were formed in late 2010, you can say is a new band but their music sounds if they had years playing, like you know when go more doom playing those down-tuned riffs and then they start driving to post-metal, awesome stuff. They are throwing this for free, but it’s released by Alerta Antifascista, if you have the chance to get this piece, this beauty comes in a grow in the dark vinyl, well limited to 100 and 900 on 180 gram black vinyl. Highly recommended, two things have made my morning, a bowl and this record.
Looking for something heavy? give this a try, their sound keeps pretty close to bands like Admiral Angry, The Osedax, Black Sheep Wall or The Abominable Iron Sloth. Thanks to Throatruiner for share this as free download. Recommended.
Destroy Judas took me by surprise, don’t knew the existence of this band and once you see their past bands, you expect something with good quality, damn, sounds pretty sick.“We come from a long list of different bands (Mindrot, Phobia, Eyes of Fire, Asunder, Lachrymose, Noctuary, Winterthrall, Deathevokation, Dystopia, Semtex Vest, Dead America, Crisis, etc…). We all have grown up together in OC and known each other (mostly) for a long time, and until I get something else interesting up here, this will have to do” enough say it, now give this a listen. For fans of Monachus, Light Bearer, Arktika, Mouth of the Architect, Generation of Vipers, etc… Highly Recommended.
Wreck And Reference are redefining heaviness within rock music. In fact, on listening to the duo’s latest EP, Black Cassette, one could be convinced that the guitar’s 60-year reign may soon be toppled. The band has forsaken magnetised strings altogether in favour of a solely electronic palette, to utterly devastating results. Where similar projects like Life In The Dark explore misery in hushed ambience, Wreck and Reference’s despair is direct, violent and furious. As dense and crushing as any regular sludge/doom cohort, Wreck and Reference rely on synthesizers, samples and heavy-handed drumming to shape vast, crackling chasms of drones and feedback into remarkably melodic and heavy pop. Pop used in the most sparing sense possible, of course. The band’s name also hints towards the methods underlying these brilliant creations.” – LURKER [Band Request]
After a whiskey and a bowl, i definitely want to listen something like this, i discovered days ago this demo and i have been playing it everyday. Black Smoke Sermon comes from Texas, influenced by bands like Thou, Moloch, Haarp, Moss, Electric Wizard, etc… this guys have created a great demo. The demo includes two tracks, one called “…in smoke, in fury” and the other is “Up On High”, both tracks runs over the 6 minutes. This is like putting your weed(eater) in your bong(zilla), then you take a hit while you listen Thou and Electric Wizard, imagine that sound!… can’t wait for something new by these guys. You can download this directly from bandcamp or once you are here, just click the download button and you can get it via mediafire. Highly Recommended.
For those who don’t know The Atlas Moth, they are a band based in Chicago, IL formed by five dudes. The first thing i listen about this band was their album from 2009 titled ” A Glorified Piece Of Blue Sky”, after two years, they release another album but i saw they released a ep the past year, but i haven’t listen it. “An Ache For The Distance” i think is the best recorded material to date, i know their 2009 album have killer tunes, but this new album sounds sick. Highly Recommended.
This is the debut album from Slabdragger, they released the album via Holy Roar Records, it’s weird to see a sludge band signed on HR, but i’m glad they released their debut album on 2 Lp’s, however, if you want to hear something new coming from a band of creative stoners, get into them. “Regress” is definitely a record you will enjoy, doesn’t sounds like the copy of the copy, it took them 2 years make this album, so imagine all the hard work and of course, all theweed they consume on that time? haa. Fans of Yob, Sleep, Cavity or Bongzilla should be clicking the download button. Highly Recommended. A random question, who is more stoner, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg or Cypress Hill? lol.
Origin: Germany Year: 2010 Genre: Post-Metal | Doom | Ambient Label: I.Corrupt | Shark Men Buy:here Web:www.radaredoom.com Definitely one of the best Post-Metal-bla-whatever records I’ve ever listened to (and it’s their debut)! I think that should be enough info to get your hands on this masterpiece! Better buy this one on white vinyl or cd, if not, pay these guys some money with the download! They recorded, mixed & mastered it in their practice room by the way! New record “Hyrule” out soon, European tour starts tomorrow (CLICK!).
Tracklist: 1. Morast 2. Licht Aus/The Lesser Graves 3. By The Flood 4. Asthenic Doubts Revolve
Remember Icos from Sweden?, well, Monachus is their current project, basically is the same people from Icos but playing at other level. I was really looking forward for this album and today i discovered this was released months ago. This is like the third time i listen the record, i love what they have created on each song, the vocalist does an amazing voice which fits perfectly with the type of music… If you are into Occoai, Neurosis, VYGR, Omega Massif, etc, get into this!. By the way, keep your eyes peeled, these guys are going to hit the road with Light Bearer in September, obviously an European tour (check our tour section!).Highly Recommended.
Pallbearer is a band from Little Rock, Arkansas and they released a demo back in 2010, it contains 3 tracks, each song goes up from the 5 minutes lenght, they play traditional doom, it reminds to black sabbath and i don’t say this just because i can’t compare them with other band, but they really sound like BS but like 25% slower. They are going to drop their first full lenght this year, i can’t wait for it…meanwhile you can pre-order the 2nd press of the demo, super highly recommended.
After 3 years from their debut album, they come again with a mature sound and you can hear it. I really love how this record has turned, if you like what they did with their debut album, man, you gonna love this…i don’t know what to expect this year, i mean…first was Earth, Lento, Blood Ceremony and more records i’ve say they are the best stuff from 2011, anyway, this is the last year of human race, right? lol. Speaking about the record, man, the whole record is like a punch with a hammer in your head with a pretty bad hangover…imagine that, you’ll need to be so fucking dope to support that punch. It’s amazing what this girl does with his flaute and that old synth, last but least to mention is how well writed are this songs…fuck, the final of the record is just gorgeous. If you don’t know anything about this band, download this and discover how good it is, you don’t need to know if they sound similar to this or that. Highly Recommended.
Slabdragger is a band from London, they are a three piece band and this is not even a demo or something, it’s all i have from them. I really think they need to release an ep at least, this 3 tracks sounds pretty sick, they really remind me to bands like Electric Wizard, Bongzill or YOB. IF you have a bong next to you, you should download this and then take a hit, oh and thanks to a user from lastfm[StonerDoomNZ] for send me this 3 tracks. Highly Recommended.
Northless is a band from Winconsin, they used to be a two piece band, now they are four and they are ready to take off your head. I like their older stuff like the split with protestant, “No quarter for the damaged” and “Leaving the wolves” are their previously releases for “Clandestine Abuse” and you clearly listen the progress of the band, no doubt. I highly recommend you this record if you want to listen something heavier and fresh, i hope Northless keep up the great work. And if you like it, support the labels involved and buy this gem of album, it has been released as 2xLP…sick, right?. Highly Recommended.
This is not the screamo band, for those who don’t know the other orchid band, they are a band based in San Francisco who play some finsest doom/stoner metal. “Capricorn” has been the record more awaited this last year, this album follows their EP from 2009 “Through the Devil’s Doorway”, they have really surprise me with this beauty of album, probably the best thing i’ve heard in 2011. Prepare your bong for this long record, smoke from the beginning to the end if you can. I’m kind of blocked but this time believe me when i say is the best record i’ve heard in 2011 and put your hands in this gem. Highly Recommended.
I wanted to post something about Rorcal in this time, but i don’t know what happens, thanks to Bruno[Rorcal] for send my a message who was more like a reminder hehe. So, “Heliogabalus” is their fifth children, a mature song about 70 minutes of pure doom, imagine the most slowly parts from bands like Moss or Switchblade, those deeper landscapes on each second who transport you to a saddest, satanic and sometimes scary moments. This track is such a masterpiece, no doubt. You gotta get this epic song as a cd or as a digital copy, they will not let you down. Highly Recommended.
Life In The Dark is the solo project by Zen Zsigo [Maths], clearly it seems like his doing something different than Maths. This project always keeps in a dark atmosphere full of sounds, landscapes and a sampler in the begining of a girl talking…it sounds great what this man is doing, but i think it would be better if he shout some screams here and there, that it would make it better. It’s a shame saw in lastfm just 87 listeners, this project should get more attention. Enjoy this two long tracks, i’m going off to the street inspired by this man. Highly Recommended.
Trenches is an Irish band who recently put out their first ep, they take elements from Doom,Hardcore,Sludge to create a dirty and heavy sound, imagine like the beggining of Eyehategod…sick, right? Definitly these guys know how to put you high, you gotta listen “Carrier” that song is like aaagh, the climax you never had. These guys are now working on a split with Drainlad, so, keep an eye with them. If you like this you should buy the ep from their bigcartel page. Highly Recommended, enjoy!
Hollow Leg is created by two guys from Jacksonville, they grew up together in Boston’s hardcore and metal scene, both guys does a great job with this debut album, a loud, stoner and heavy sound new to your ears. Each song is a mix of doom, sludge to a more stoner metal sound with those riffs who make you trip out. You might think one guitar doesn’t make much noise…i thought that at first when i was reading about the band, but, when i was listening to the record, i just change my perception about these guys, they do a really well job here. You can download/purchase the lp from their bandcamp page, if you like it…buy it! support those bands who share their music for free. Fans of Olde Growth,Orange Goblin,Cavity,Acid King take note. Thanks To Elementary Revolt for this one!.
A split between some of the more darkest and heavy bands coming from gemany, if you don’t know one of this bands or both, this split let you know who they are. 2 songs from each band and BSoN is who starts with a downtuned and really heavy riff that goes directly to your head without permission, all the time they keep the slowly and dark atmosphere…how it has to be. In the other side is Crowskin, a heavy and dirty sound with a girl screaming so fucking deep, sometimes they trow stoner riffs here and there, i really like how this band sounds. Highly Recommended.
Origin: Canada Year: 2004 Genre: Atmospheric Sludge | Doom Label: Hydra Head Buy:Here Web:Myspace MARE. Do I have to say more? One of Hydra Head’s best. Their singer is like the most insane ever! Just listen to the first song and you’ll agree with that. Too bad there are just these 5 songs released. This band had so much potential. If you didn’t know these guys yet: GET THIS EP, LOVE THIS EP, BUY THIS EP!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Tracklist: 1. Anisette 2. They Sent You 3. Tropics 4. Palaces 5. Sun For Miles
It’s pretty weird when you download to many shit and you discover a gem in those forgotten files, shame on me. These guys create a heavy but all the time stoner atmospheres, with that voice pretty stoner, in this s/t they build 5 long songs that will blow you away, it’s like a decapitation… after your head has been removed by a knife you’ll see how your head is going down and the agony you feel in those 37 seconds it’s exactly what this guys makes me feel. High-ly Recommended, do you a favor and smoke in a bong while you listen this.
New record from these duo from Rhode Island, i never heard of them before but a friend of mine pass me this gem. This it’s not the typical sludge band, they have really impress me with this album. The album starts with a female sing, all the first track have it and it sounds scary at some times. What i like of this band is that the vocalist don’t use microphone, so expect some high pitched screams. The record is really heavy but sometimes sllowly with weird noises or samplers or that girl singing who scares. I can’t impress you with words, you have to get this album and discover what i try to say, i thought other releases were going to be the top of 2010 but now i think The Body has earned this award…Highly Recommended
4.Even The Saints Knew Their Hour Of Failure And Loss
Richmond’s COUGH delivers thoroughly massive, psychedelic doom on ‘Ritual Abuse’. The albums five epic tracks are impenetrable walls of sludge; at points suffocating and claustrophobic, at others warped and hallucinogenic. ‘Ritual Abuse’ is an impressive monolith of sound and volume, and one of the finest moments yet of 21st century doom.Enjoint it!
Boston duo making a great mix of stoner, sludge and doom, this album is truly the best I’ve heard this year…talking about these genres. It is amazing how the distortion and bass riffs make you trip along with the drummer beats, sometimes sings and sometimes screams all summed up in a great job. If you like bands like Sleep, Bongzilla, Electric Wizard, Eyehategod and all the ball, you should really put an eye on this duo. Highly Recommended!
1.The Grand Illusion
2.Life In The Present
3.Cry of the Nazgul/The Second Darkness/To the Black Gate
